August 2026 Little Chargers
We are having a great start to the school year at WES. Students are working hard on their schoolwork, being respectful to their teachers and classmates, showing kindness to each other, and have a positive attitude. These qualities are what it means to be a Little Charger. WES Little Chargers for August are:

Pre-k students are having fun learning through different hands on centers this week.
Mrs. Woodard’s and Mrs. Brown's kindergarten friends put their thinking caps on and worked as a team to put events in the correct sequence! They practiced first, next, then, and last while communicating, problem-solving, and helping one another along the way.
Kindergarten students had a very busy day completing all their centers with Mrs. Woodard and Mrs. Brown.
Ms. Rush’s first-grade students are busy working together at centers.
We appreciate Mr. McGee, Mr. Stricklin, and Mr.Dempsey taking care of maintenance needs at WES.

WES Kindergarteners enjoyed looking through new books and listening to the new audio readers this week.
Attention WES parents!
School Resource Officer Barry Joe Miller works diligently to be sure the students and staff at WES are safe. He discussed playground safety with our students recently. We appreciate all he does at WES.

WES Open House!!
All students will need to fill out a lunch application for the 26-27 school year. This will determine if a student will be free, able to eat at a reduced price, or have full price meals for the upcoming school year.
Outstanding Administrator
CCSD’s Incoming Superintendent Glen Blaine received the 25-26 Outstanding Administrator Award from Miss. State Univ. The ceremony was held at MS Christian Univ. where several educators from around the state were honored in different educational areas.
