Fifth and sixth grade PACE students at Weir Elementary researched the history and cultural significance of totem poles. Then, each student designed their own totem pole to represent themselves, their home, their family, their friends, and a favorite hobby. Awesome job Mrs. Ferguson! Mrs. Chase and Mrs. KeKey’s first-grade students are exploring the world of plants—from tiny seeds to fully grown plants. Together, they are learning about the plant life cycle, the different parts of a plant, and the important functions each part serves. The class has discussed what plants need in order to grow, as well as the ways plants help us and how we, in turn, can take care of them. Students also made LEGO plants and labeled them. Each day, the students are not only learning but also growing alongside their plants. #WeirExcellenceShines

Weir Elementary School kicked off its first week of Robotics with a robotics scavenger hunt. Both 3rd and 4th-grade students had a great time looking through their VEX GO robotics kit. It was a successful day! Can’t wait to see what these students build. #WeirExcellenceShines

Choctaw County Speech Teachers enjoyed attending and learning new techniques and strategies at the Mississippi conference.
Thank you Ms. Polly, Ms. Terrell, and Ms. Tori for all you do on a daily basis for our students.

Mrs. White and Ms. Cork's PreK students had a blast doing a fun sensory activity! The children were encouraged to focus on their senses—what they could see, hear, feel, and smell—and then use those experiences to paint their own masterpieces. 🖌️👩🎨👨🎨
It was amazing to see how the little ones expressed themselves through colors and textures, and it was a wonderful opportunity for them to engage in hands-on learning while exploring the world around them. We Shine Bright at WES! Creativity❤️
