The CCCTC Culinary Arts program provided a hot chocolate bar at the Ackerman Library Holiday Open House. Students served homemade hot chocolate with toppings like whipped cream, marshmallows, toffee bits, chocolate and caramel sauce.
The Sports Medicine Class at the Choctaw County Career and Technology Center teamed up with Mississippi Blood Services to host a blood drive for senior students & district staff. The blood drive went great as many students & district staff donated life-saving blood today!
If you ordered fruit from a student at CCCTC, it has arrived. You may begin picking the fruit up today from 3:30-5:30 pm. Pick up times for Wednesday, December 8, will begin at 8:30 am. Please call 662-285-4152 if you have any further questions.
FFA members were making introductions, electing officers, and discussing what competitions each student was interested in participating in.
Culinary arts 2 students have been working with poultry this week. Each student fabricated their own chicken by cutting a whole bird into 8 pieces. They then prepared the various chicken pieces by roasting, baking, braising, and frying.
The Christmas season is upon us so make sure you come to the CCHS Choral Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 9th.

Health Science students volunteering with Legacy Hospice during the Ackerman Christmas parade. Students helped set up the table and pass out free coco to the public.
The Health Science Core students have been studying about the basic levels of human body organization this week. They designed posters while learning about various body regions, cavities, and directional terms.

Students in Culinary Arts II experimented with a variety of garnishing techniques in the annual Twinkie Challenge. Students were evaluated on their use of color, texture, composition, and height as they presented the classic Twinkie in an upgraded fashion.

A special thank you to Mrs. Kathryn Allman, Director of MS Tobacco Free Coalition of Choctaw, Webster, and Montgomery counties, for speaking to our CCCTC students about the numerous facts and dangers of vaping.
Sports Medicine students learned about concussions or mild traumatic brain injuries this week in class. They each created a helmet out of sports medicine supplies to protect an egg (brain) from physical trauma. Each helmet was tested by being dropped from the 2nd floor.
