Mrs. Turnipseed and Mrs. K. Tuck’s 1st graders at Ackerman Elementary School are having fun spelling their sight words!





Pre-K students at Ackerman Elementary School are doing a great job in their centers





On Wednesday, Mrs. Miller’s 5th graders at Ackerman Elementary School had a glow day. Students worked on highlighting and explaining text evidence, played life size connect four, and glow Jenga!





Ackerman Elementary School would like to congratulate Mrs. Bethany Busby for being selected as Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Emily Trice for being selected as Paraprofessional of the Year! These ladies work extremely hard, and they do an amazing job each day!


Ackerman Elementary School had staff members from Cadence Bank visit the school on Tuesday. The presenters discussed finances, how to manage money, and even discussed using debit and credit cards. The students learned a lot and were able to ask questions to the bank staff.




Coach Smith has 5th graders at Ackerman Elementary School rocking with a game of dodgeball. These students are having fun with one another and their teacher!





Mrs. Joelie Miller, a 5th grade teacher at Ackerman Elementary School, was selected as WCBI Educator of the Week. Mrs. Miller was nominated by one of her students, Destiny Martin. Tune in to WCBI on Wednesday night and Thursday to see the segment!


Students in Mrs. M. Taylor’s 5th grade class at Ackerman Elementary School are working on reading skills. Mrs. Taylor is working with students to break down passages to find key details and information that will help them with comprehension.

3rd graders in Mrs. Gammill and Mr. Richardson’s classes were rewarded for good behavior on Friday!

4th graders at Ackerman Elementary had a wonderful field trip to the Small Town Harvest Festival!





Mrs. Zirlott and Mrs. Fondren’s Pre-K students at Ackerman Elementary School had a lesson on germs and hand washing from Mrs. Karla Beard, the school nurse.




3rd graders in Mrs. Barnett’s class at Ackerman Elementary School had a great time learning about The First Thanksgiving using a reader’s theatre!!




These 2nd graders at Ackerman Elementary School purchased “Office Worker” passes with their Charger Bucks! They did a great job helping out!


4th grade students at Ackerman Elementary School had their Grandparent’s Day Luncheon on Thursday! Thank you to everyone who came!





5th Graders at Ackerman Elementary School who were selected as “Top Writers” received a special lunch on Thursday.





Ackerman Elementary School’s Chargers in Charge for the month of October have wonderful behavior and character. These students are doing a great job!
